Blood Research Institute
Dedicated to research and the treatment of blood-related disorders and
cancers, the Blood Research Institute is a multi-disciplinary unit of
the hematology/oncology departments. It includes the Nadeene Brunini Comprehensive
Hemophilia Care Center, which provides comprehensive hemophilia care.

Centralized Scheduling Department
The Central Scheduling Department schedules outpatient testing in the
following clinical areas: Bone Density, CT Scan, Echocardiography, EEG,
EKG, EMG, MRI, Pulmonary Function Testing, Sleep Disorders, Stress Testing,
24 Hour Holter Monitoring, Ultrasound, and X-ray. The Central Scheduling
Department also schedules initial consult visits for Physical Therapy,
Occupational Therapy, and Nerve Conduction Studies.

The Connie Dwyer Breast Center at Saint Michael's Medical Center is a

The
Regional Cancer Center
The Regional Cancer Center provides patients with state-of-the-art cancer
treatment by offering an outstanding combination of medical expertise

The
Heart and Vascular Institute
The Heart and Vascular Institute at Saint Michael's Medical Center offers
the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures available.
Using state-of-the-art technology and techniques, the Institute’s

(EMS) Training Institute
The Institute provides CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), ACLS (advanced

Infectious Diseases
An international leader in the research and treatment of infectious diseases,

Medical Imaging

Nephrology Department
The Nephrology Department specializes in kidney disease and offers evaluation
and treatment of nephritic syndrome, hypertension, and kidney failure.
Patients with end-stage renal disease are treated with renodialysis or
peritoneal dialysis in the hemodialysis unit.

Orthopedics Department
The department offers treatment of injuries and disorders of the skeletal
system and associated muscles, joints, and ligaments. Board-certified

Pain Management
A board-certified anesthesia pain specialist coordinates treatments with
therapy services as needed. Pain treatments are individualized for each
patient and can include patient-controlled analgesia, a variety of pain
medications, and specialized injection procedures for spine pain and other
chronic conditions.

Pathology – Consolidated
Laboratories
The department oversees the testing of patient specimens, including body
fluids, blood, and tissue samples. The Commission on Laboratory Accreditation
of the College of American Pathologists awarded an “Accreditation
with Distinction” to the Saint Michael’s Medical Center Clinical
Laboratory.

The Peter Ho Memorial Clinic
The first and largest HIV/AIDS treatment clinic in New Jersey, the Peter
Ho Memorial Clinic provides medical services, case management, psychological
services, nutrition counseling, and substance-abuse counseling for people
who are HIV positive or have AIDS.

Pharmacy Department
The state-of-the-art pharmacy department at Saint Michael's Medical Center
is a 4,000-square-foot facility operating around the clock and employing
34 full-time employees. The Pharmacy Department provides a variety of
key services, including an adverse drug reaction hotline, clinical services,
community education, intravenous admixtures/chemotherapy, pharmacotherapy
education, quality assurance/continuous quality improvement, and unit
dose medication dispensing.

Primary Care Center
Families without a private doctor are welcome at the Primary Care Center,
which provides medical care in both primary and sub-specialty areas. Primary
care includes preventative screenings as well as treatment. Specialty
clinics include Asthma, Cardiology, Chest, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology,
Neurology, Orthopedic, Podiatry, Renal, Rheumatology/ Osteopathy, Surgery,
and Wound Care. Most insurance plans are accepted.

Asthma Clinic
The clinic offers inpatient and outpatient diagnosis and treatment for
adult patients with asthma and asthmatic disorders.
Endocrinology Clinic
The clinic treats disorders of the thyroid, pituitary and adrenal glands,
testes, and ovaries, as well as other hormonally mediated conditions.

Sleep Disorders Center
The Sleep Disorders Center at Saint Michael’s Medical Center is
a state-of-the-art, four-bedroom sleep lab offering evaluation, testing,
and treatment for disorders of sleeping and waking. The Center features

access in a comfortable, home-like setting.

The Department of Surgery
Saint Michael’s Medical Center offers comprehensive surgical capabilities.
Specialties include Breast, Cardiovascular and Thoracic, Ear-Nose-and-Throat,

Vascular Laboratory
Accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular
Laboratories, the vascular laboratory performs a full array of vascular
procedures and is one of only two laboratories in the state that is accredited
to do visceral abdominal vascular imaging. The laboratory is staffed by
nationally certified registered vascular technologists.
